Video conference between Prendergast Junior School and Hattingskolen

To celebrate the international education day Friday 15'th of November 2002 we went from Horsens to Herning. In the education centre we took place in a video conference room to have an English lesson together with our school partners from Prendergast Junior school in Wales.

The conference topic was communication.
The classes described their mobile phones in speach, photos and texts, small games, communication history, photos and texts from a visit on a tranceducer factory in Horsens - Sonionkirk, and describtions of the newest mobile phones.
Some of the boys had time for a game of chess before the videoconference. Niels Arne Nielsen the technician in Herning taught  Rasmus some technic.

When do we start?

 

Stine and Katrine started to show transparences from their visit in Wales in June 2002.

Morten told about sending SMS on his mobile. Simon told about communication history together with Kristian. In science the class has been studying what is inside a mobile, and why it is able to work.

 Nicolaj told about his mobile and about picture messenges. Mads told about  life in 2002 without having a mobile.

Christina and Mette had studied the newest mobile phones on the internet. They had the prepared text in front of them. In math the class do a large survey about mobile phones. In Danish they also write about the topic. One of the photos from the Sonionkirk factory in Horsens we showed the Welsh pupils. Mette and Christina watch the robots producing transducers behind the glass. In Horsens they produce speakers for all kinds of mobile phones.

It was a very succesful conference with speaches, talk, games,transperences, photos and a lot of smiles.
